The Dallas Stars were founded during the 1967 NHL expansion as the Minnesota North Stars, based in Bloomington, Minnesota. Before the beginning of the 1978–1979 NHL season, the team merged with the Cleveland Barons due to each team’s respective financial struggles. Ultimately, the franchise relocated to Dallas for the 1993–1994 NHL season. The Dallas Stars played out of Reunion Arena from their relocation until 2001, when the team moved to the American Airlines Center, where Dallas Stars Ticket Holders still watch them play today.
The Dallas Stars have won eight division titles in Dallas, two Presidents’ Trophies, two Western Conference championships, and in 1999, they won their only Stanley Cup. That championship win was thanks in large part to Brett Hull joining the team in the 1998 off-season. Hull was a top-scoring winger who was coming off a magnificent run with the St. Louis Blues. Not only did he help the Dallas Stars win the Stanley Cup, but that same season, the team surpassed the 50-win mark for the first time in franchise history. They also recorded 114 points, which still stands today as a franchise record.
The team’s success in the late 1990s was short-lived however, and Dallas Stars Ticket Holders watched their team struggle throughout the new millennium. There is renewed optimism among fans with center and team captain Jamie Benn lighting up the ice. Some believe he’s the best player in the NHL today. Plus, he’s got Tyler Seguin by his side. Dallas Stars Ticket Holders love the comradery between Benn and Seguin (also referred to as the Benguin). Dallas Stars fans who want to see the Benguin in action, not to mention an entire roster of top hockey talent, can get their tickets from Golden Tickets.
